This piece is sort of a sequel to ‘Learn To Let Go Already’ The kitchen is the same kitchen, as the one in ‘Learn To Let Go Already’ If you haven’t read the text behind that piece, please read that before this.
So in that one, she had to face a difficult choice. It was heartbreaking but she knew she had to do it. In this piece I wanted to portray the importance of friendship and having friends who support you around you. . Letting go of something traumatic in the past is not easy, but the hardest part is not looking back.
The red door represents the scary past and the unpredictable future. You’re trying to figure out life when you have nothing negative ruling over you anymore. The change feels amazing, but also those feelings could come back someday. That’s when it’s important to have those people around you that remind you of how far you’ve become, and how much work you’ve done.
The three girls represent the essence of my amazing friends <3 This piece is for all the amazing queer friend groups who love and support each other.
